I am in control by knowing that money is a tool
How do you date your finances? I never really though of my money and me as having a relationship until I was discussing a pattern in my finances with a incredible group of women who I connect with on a weekly basis. Somehow I manage to make enough, I get comfy and then panic sets in as I realized I have to dip into an account that was originally labeled as ‘SAVINGS’.
“You don’t treat your finances very nice. You do not invest the time to help your finances grow or really know where your money is going”, was the reply I heard.
So we set a date. By ‘we’, I mean my finances and me. Every Thursday I spend time learning about my spending patterns, seeing what money is coming in and pre-planning for when I know money has to go out. I am committed to becoming financially smitten™ with Lora Sasiela and using spreadsheets like a smart cookie™ so that can best steward my money. Like my uncle said, “Money is a tool and you have to learn how to use it”.
